The Real Problem in Cabinet Sanding

MDF doors and panels require absolute precision before finishing. CNC machining inevitably leaves tool marks, ridges, and micro-lines. Unlike solid wood, MDF cannot hide imperfections; if these defects are not completely sanded out, they will telegraph directly through your primer and paint.

However, automating MDF sanding is incredibly difficult. Brush sanders simply polish over the tool marks, while traditional robotics either stay 5 mm away from the edges (leaving manual work) or ram into them, resulting in disastrous inside profile damages.

Precision is the real requirement.

Effective MDF and primer sanding requires accurate automatic pitch control (APC), submillimeter-perfect edge awareness, and active force compensation (AFC). Without that, automation cannot replace your manual finishing team.
