Autonomous robots over the years

Self-programming equipment won United Technologies “Most Innovative Project” Award.

Early Innovation

François’ team designed self-programming equipment that won United Technologies’ “Most Innovative Project” award. At Orus Integration, his company at the time, they developed and sold multiple 3D robot-guidance systems before being acquired in 2010 to build structural steel welding equipment.

Delivering Systems That Transform Output

Delivering Systems That Transform Output

François Simard and Laurier Roy delivered an autonomous paint robot to Decoustic, a subsidiary of the French multinational Saint-Gobain. This project laid the early groundwork for a new manufacturing category, Autonomous Manufacturing, leveraging decades of experience and dozens of unique deployments to create the most versatile robotics platform for factory floors.

Founding Omnirobotic

François and Laurier co-founded Omnirobotic, marking the beginning of a new era in robotic automation.

Launch of OmniPainter

OmniPainter revolutionized robotic painting operations, providing manufacturers with unprecedented precision and efficiency.

Introduction of AutonomyOS™

Powering a New Generation of Autonomous Systems Omnirobotic introduced AutonomyOS™, the world’s first operating system for autonomous manufacturing. Designed to give robots the ability to perceive shapes, plan motion, and adapt in real time, AutonomyOS™ enables machines to operate intelligently, without any programming.

A Strategic Shift Toward Machine Building

In 2021, Omnirobotic made a pivotal shift from a software technology developer to a machine builder, using AutonomyOS™ as the foundation for its own line of autonomous manufacturing machines.

This strategic move allowed the company to design and build elaborate, high-performance robotic systems at record speed, gaining a significant edge in innovation and time-to-market.

Scaling Up Innovation, Launch of the Panel Sanding Assistant (PSA-80 PRO)

Omnirobotic entered the market as a machine builder with the launch of the Panel Sanding Assistant, powered by AutonomyOS™. The machine was an instant success, early adopters across North America gained a strong market advantage by reducing cost per door while producing more, faster, and with superior quality.

Expansion to a New Headquarters

Omnirobotic expanded its headquarters to a new 6,500-sq.-ft. (603.8-sq.-m) facility in Laval’s industrial district. This new space significantly increases production capacity, enabling the company to build up to 180 machines per year and meet the growing global demand for autonomous manufacturing solutions.

Shaping the Future of Autonomous Manufacturing

Today, Omnirobotic is redefining what it means to automate. With AutonomyOS™ at its core, the company is leading a new generation of intelligent machines that can see, understand, and adapt, bringing true autonomy to high-mix production environments.

Omnirobotic’s machines eliminate the complexity of traditional automation. They empower manufacturers of all sizes to produce more, with fewer constraints, solving the skilled labor shortage while setting new standards for quality and efficiency.
